2018 Nissan Xterra is set to make its global debut at the Beijing Motor Show 2018. Since the beginning of this year, Nissan seems to be preparing its newest product. This new product will be in the SUV segment and will be a serious competitor to Ford Everest, Chevrolet Trailblazer, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Toyota Fortuner.
Reportedly, Nissan will use the Navara platform. When viewed from the exterior, 2018 Nissan Xterra has a design that is almost the same as Navara NP300 where it does not have too box shape like its predecessor the Nissan Pathfinder.
This SUV looks fixed using the V-Motion grille and aggressive front bumper. This Japanese car manufacturer also uses the design of the roof and the rear-view mirror of Navara. However, Nissan seems to want to produce an SUV that combines the characteristics of the Pathfinder with Navara. The combination is believed to produce a vehicle that can meet the expectations of world consumers.
2018 Nissan Xterra will be the latest body-on-frame SUV that can accommodate 7-adult passengers. This SUV is predicted to carry a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder engine with 7-speed Matic transmission.
In addition to these engines, Nissan seems to also be present option 2.3-liter turbo engine and twin-turbo diesel engine that has been used by Navara.
“Nissan is competent in the frame-based vehicle segment, frame-based trucks and frame-based SUVs so we will be playing in all segments. Now? I think you should wait longer. Please be patient much longer until the Beijing Motor Show 2018,” said Ashwani Gupta, Chief of Light Commercial Vehicle Division of Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi.
China will be the first country to receive 2018 Nissan Xterra and will be delivered to Nissan’s dealership network in China in February 2018.
