Thailand Nissan officially launched a new model in the spacious hatchback segment, 2017 Nissan Note. In Thailand, the 2017 Nissan Note is claimed to be sent out to pinch market share of the Honda Jazz. Priced at 568,000 Baht – 640,000 Baht.
Antonio Zara, President Director of Nissan Motor Indonesia, seemed interested in presenting this model in the country. He spotted a gap in bringing 2017 Nissan Note from Thailand to the free trade scheme in Southeast Asia.
“Once in Thailand, and we can take it to enter Indonesia, the export scheme ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA). However, we will learn in advance to be a product to be marketed in the country,” said the man who is familiarly called Toti.
Toti realized that the market of the hatchback car segment is declining, but it is not considered a problem for Nissan Indonesia. The reason, they want to participate in all segments of the domestic automotive.
“I think we not only want to participate only in the large segment. We are a global company, and good for the brand as it has all the segments to compete, ranging from LCGC, non-LCGC (city car), MPV, including hatchback” Toti said.
2017 Nissan Note in Thailand comes with a 1.2 L engine that is able to provide power to 79 HP, the fuel consumption average lift 20 kilometers per liter, with CO2 emissions of 120g / km. If the 2017 Nissan Note will be incorporated into the Indonesian market, Note could be going there in the city car segment, given the size of the engine is only 1.2 L. However, if it should be placed in the hatchback, it could just be replacing the Nissan Livina X-Gear.
